About The Event
Held in the Cullity Gallery, and supported by the UWA Graduate Research School, this event aims to engage with the public on Alicea’s current research and raise funds for an exciting development project to be implemented in Ghana early 2019. Alicea’s research explores how power and social norms surrounding gender can affect farmers’ adaptive capacities to climate change. In honour of the research participants and Ghana’s vibrant agricultural heritage, the research leader and artist is showcasing both film and digital photographs from her time spent working with rural farmers in the Region earlier this year.
All funds raised from photo sales and donations will contribute directly to gender-inclusive educational workshops to be carried out in the research communities. Workshops will be facilitated in collaboration with the University of Cape Coast, Ghana and will be centred on climate change processes and potential strategies for adaptation. Free entry with drinks and nibbles provided!
Please RSVP via email by Monday October 8th for catering purposes to firstname.lastname@example.org
